Welcome to Wairarapa PHO

Wairarapa Community PHO fund and co-ordinate health care services throughout the Wairarapa through seven general practices with 29 GPs and 56 Practice Nurses servicing just over 40,000 enrolled patients. The PHO office is located on Lincoln Road, in Masterton.

Smoking Cessation Call Centre


The best thing you can do for your health is to stop smoking.


Compass Health, Compass Primary HealthCare Network, Central PHO and Wairarapa PHO are working with practices to increase the number of patients to be given brief advice regarding their smoking.


A centralised call centre will be operating from 23 April 2012. This call centre will be contacting enrolled patients who have been identified as current smokers within the last 15 months, offering brief advice over the phone. This group of current smokers have also been sent a letter outlining the available resources to help them to quit.
